Tuesday Tells & Tattles is my fancy term for QUOTES! The subjects range from serious and life-changing to silly and senseless. As an HR professional, you just need these to get you through the day! Some of the quotes are my own rants, raves, and sayings and some are from celebrities, pioneers, or they remain anonymous.
I thought I would do a blogpost collection of six together just in case you missed them and I may have added a little flair too! Enjoy and if you love them, please share them!
Bob Carter #7
We need to plan every day and do it well. Why? Because it isn’t my emergency to get things done when you plan poorly!! One of the many quotes that relate to how my HR life!
Brene Brown #8
Work culture is so important! If you work for a company, how is the work culture there? Are you allowed to be innovative and creative? Do you need to help facilitate changing a culture where you work? Click HERE for tools!
Thomas Edison #9
We can be so, so, so close to success – don’t give up! Have you ever wondered where you would be if you just stayed the course? Often times I repeat this to myself because I need it!
George Carlin #10
Race Bib Quote! So serious yet hilarious! I had to read this a couple of times over. I do get stressed over the littlest things and I hate being what I refer to as sweat-wet. YUCK! Thoughts?
John Patrick Hickey #11
Please read my blog post rants on what happened to please and thank you. It led me to this great quote that everyone should ‘respect’! Thank you!

Often times HR is told to be emotionless. When I started this site, it was to put the human back in human resources. I am so honest – sometimes to a fault – but I will never mislead people or be fake.
In my HR career, quotes are important in training, for display, to generate conversation, and to have a laugh! What is your favorite on this list? Please comment below and let me know!

I appreciate inspirational and encouraging quotes! Plus the George Carlin one made me smile.
I love the Thomas Edison quote – very personal for me because it’s happened. These are some great quotes (love Brene Brown, too).
I love the first one, because I’m pretty sure I’ve told people that when I worked in the corporate environment! I think my favourite one though, is the one about a vulnerable work environment because as a creative person that was always a tough thing for me.
Thanks for sharing your video message.
You are welcome! We all have different creative vibes and we should all be able to share them at work – otherwise its boring as well!
I used to quote Bob Carter all the time and still do at times 🙂
I love the Brene Brown quote… so true!!
These are all really great quotes…I might need to use a few!
Absolutely!
Love the one about sweaty things. Great reminder!
I love the quote by Thomas Edison. It’s a good reminder not to give up on the things we want just because it’s hard.
Like blogging in my opinion – we go go go….
Great quotes!
I love this list! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing some and inspiring quotes
Oh, these are fun! I love #7 and #10 equally but for different reasons, of course!
For sure!
I have the first quote on my desk. LOL!
When I had a desk – I had it on my wall 🙂
Thank you for sharing these quotes! I love the one about respect and the one about not sweating the petty stuff.
I think my favorite is the one about failures and the closeness to success. So true. Thanks.
These are awesome quotes! My favorite is George Carlin #10, for sure! Thanks for sharing!
Love these! I just read an article from Brené Brown that I learned a lot from. That first quote hits home on many levels!!
I will always love a good George Carlin quote! Great list!
I love this compilation. I especially resonate with the Brene Brown quote ! This is severely lacking in my workplace currently.
Unfortunately, it continues to be lacking in so many workplaces!
Favorite quote is the George Carlin quote about not sweating the petty stuff petting the sweaty ones lol.
I love that I found it on a race bib – that quote is awesome for so many situations isn’t it?
These are great quotes. I love the first one! Poor planning on your part doesn’t mean an emergency on mine!
these are great. I love a good quote
These are great!
Yes keep me out of your poor planning emergencies! haha Love that quote!
My old Director would repeat at least weekly a similar version of this quote – it was her mantra!
The Bob Carter quote is so accurate! I used to work in a bakery and would get people coming in all the time that needed a cake yesterday (is what we joked). In reality, they would ask for a complex order for the next day. Sorry, ain’t happening!
I get it – same thing in HR. ‘But this is due today, can’t you extend the deadline for me?’ They had 1 month to complete it! HA!
I hear you! After 11 years in HR you tend to not feel respected or liked so anything that lightens the mood is helpful!
Agree 🙂
